New RC3 version is now available. This version adds some of the time restriction functionality, mostly still unusable, but getting there. Also, MySQL4 related problems are (hopefully) fixed. There are some small overall changes and fixes. Import from WP-Post Rating plugin is added, but right now without some more testing I am not 100% sure that import will always work. So, please report errors if you find any. Also, there is an important update to code that’s saving votes. I have added check to see if the vote is valid. There was a case that someone changed ajax request with voting data and sent vote value of 1000. Now something like that can’t happen. This post is mainly about some of the features that have gone through changes recently, and until I complete user guide, maybe they are not that easy to use. Finally, new version is here. Before I get on with what’s new in this one, I would like to remind you all about the new development website for this plugin hosted on Google Code where you can access lates development source code that’s updated daily. Also, there you can add bug reports, read wiki pages (in works) or comment the soruce code if you fee like it. Also, since the 1.0.0 is very near, I would like to call on for the translators. Currently beside standard english, I am doing translation to serbian, and Angel Guzman Maeso translated plugin to spanish. There is also french translation but it’s not updated for the last few versions. So, it would be great to have more languages available, so if you are up to the task, get yourself POT file and translate it. There is also a tutorial on this website about that, so you might wanna check that out also. And now to the new stuff in this latest version of the plugin. Well, I don’t need help coding the plugin, but I would like some input on how to do certain things, about certain featrues. I resumed my work on the plugin, and new version will be released in the middle of the week. This version will have ajax voting support, templates (partial support for now) and few things fixed. If you want to find out what things I need help with, and you think you might be able to offer a viable solution, keep reading, and join discussion in the forum. I decided to release plugin little earlier then I first announced it. Plugin has come a long way, and is almost ready for a stable 1.0.0. There are few very importan thing missing, and in the next few weeks, all that will be done. As you could see in the previous post, GD Star Rating has brand new widget. Widget support multiple instances, so you can add more than one widget with different ratings into your sidebar. And widget alows you full control of the rendering using templates. This is also a preview of template system that the plugin will use for rating stars block, rating tables and everything else. Continue to see what else is new, or just download plugin and see for your self. |
