GD Star Rating 0.8.5

Here is the new version of rating plugin. Since I have completed all work I have planned on my Starscape theme, I will have more time for this plugin. And this new version adds few new things, introduces many changes and bug fixes.

Since this is still far from final stable release, database handling code is still not completed, and right now there are many uneeded calls made to the database when it comes to comments rating. Also, I had to change some things in database layout, and I have added upgrade code, so this should be working ok. In any case, after you upgrade, please check if the votes are recorded properly, and report any errors you find with that. I have tested upgrading on few test blog, and there were no problems.

And as always, mind that this is still in development, and is not recommended to use it on your production blog.

Comments Rating

Finally, I have added voting for comments. For now, you still can’t see comments votes in control panel, but the votes are saved. New shortcode for comments rating is added, and new php function also. There will be a lot of improvements in this part with next 0.9.0 version. New version is on this blog, so you can test voting for comments.

Control Panel

I have made changes to Settings page of the control panel, and I think that now it’s much easier too use. I did’t made any other changes to other control panel pages. This will be done in next version.

And more…

I have added wait message after voting, to hide voting stars and prevent multiple clicks. This is also intro into ajax voting that will follow soon (I hope). I have added roadmap file, that I will try to keep updated with every new version. I don’t promise to follow it exactly, but I will try to work in order thgrough that list.

I am very grateful for all the suggestions and bug reports. Next version will follow soon…

    I have updated plugin to 0.8.6 becauase I forgot to remove some debug code, and there were some update problems. Sorry.

    Hello, good plugin, great job but i deactivate the comments votes because it printed badly in my comments (surely because of my theme illacrimo)
    Is there a way to add a title before the stars like ‘Let’s vote!) or something else?
