New webiste dedicated to WordPress development is now online. Content from this blog will be mostly transfered there soon. So, check out the new website: Leave the comments about new website, and suggestions in a comment form, or in the forum. And yet another new version. This version includes number of new tools. There are also some small important changes and improvements along with few small bug fixed. Next version will be first stable, final 1.0.0 release. On the image on the right you can see how the new posts panel looks like including new comments closing tool. Here is what is added in this version:
That’s it for now, expect 1.0.0 in the next few days. Suggestions and bug reports are always welcome. And another new version of GD Press Tools plugin is here. This version has new tool for changing PHP memory limit. This is first of the tools that will provide easy way to change some of the PHP variables. There are few smaller bugs fixed, CSS styles are changed for better display in all browsers including IE. There is a new panel called ‘Enviroment Info’ that displays full PHP settings and information, all PHP constants and MySQL information. This page is over 150 KB in size when rendered, so it can take some time to load. There are few more tools I plan to add before 1.0 version is released: some bulk operations on posts, few more PHP settings change and display of the structure of database tables. As always, all suggestions for new tools are welcome. This will be last alpha version for the plugin. I have fixed few smaller problems introduced with previous version and cleanup some of the CSS classes. Few things were changed for some of the upcoming features. New feature in this version is completed plugin front page. This page now shows important plugin links and three widgets with server, PHP and mySQL information. Next version will have tool that displays full PHP and mySQL information. Also, there will be settings for PHP so you can change runtime settings, and one or two additional tools on posts panel. And again, if you have any suggestions, or bugs to report, leave a comment here or post in the forum. Development of this plugin is going much faster then I thougth it will. I was reading posts all over the internet with tips and tricks for WordPress, and some of them helped me to add new tools into plugin. This update adds 6 new tools and many improvements from the previous version. With new tools you can disable plugins and core (WP 2.7) updates, you can disable RSS feeds and reset all sidebars and remove widgets from them. You can restrict access to the website only to registered users. And this version adds dasboard widget. This widget currenctl shows number of revisions and database overhead, and also has options to remove and clean right from the dashboard. As always, if you have any suggestions, or bugs to report, leave a comment here or post in the forum. |
